iPhone Display and Brightness
Show Transcript
Sometimes our iPhones aren’t giving us what we need. Maybe the screen feels a little too dim, or the text seems to fade into the background. Fortunately, there are a few simple adjustments that can make everything feel clearer and more comfortable.
Let’s start right on the Home Screen.
Look for the gray Settings icon — it looks like a small metal gear. Tap it once to open.
In the Settings menu, scroll down the screen, until you reach Display and Brightness icon. The icon looks like a small blue sun. Tap on it.
You’re now on the Display & Brightness page. Look for the brightness slider near the bottom of your screen. Place your finger on that slider and slowly glide to the right to brighten the screen, or to the left to make it softer. Take a moment to find the level that feels comfortable—this is about making the phone work for you.
Now let’s look at the screen contrast. On the top half of the screen you’ll find two choices side by side: Light on the left, and Dark on the right.
Tap Light if you prefer a bright background with strong, dark text.
Tap Dark if a darker background with lighter text feels gentler on your eyes. Try each one—it only takes a second.
These small changes add up. They help the iPhone work a little harder, so you don’t have to.
